3. Flying A New York elephant print scarf

5. Ally Capellino red satchel
6. Boutique by Jaegar spotty dress
7. Liberty Barbour jacket
8. Cath Kidston fairisle hat
9. Topshop tassel loafers

With the weather officially changing and the leaves turning rusty, I can’t help but think about all the cosy and delicious things in the shops at the moment. Every year, at the end of summer, I start to get itchy for cooler weather fashion. It’s funny because when I was putting this collage together I looked back at last year’s autumn collage and realised that my taste really hasn’t changed that much at all. I seem to have a set autumn style that I stick with, large jumpers and lots of opaque tights.

Regular readers will probably have noticed that I am a real autumn nerd, I feel complete with a coat on and have an extensive collection of berets. However, I’m fining this autumn a little more exciting than most as I’m  totally in love with the whole country look, nut brown leather loafers, waxed jackets, tartan skirts and chunky knits are simply bliss to me! Now all I need is a mansion in the country to enjoy it all in.

However I don’t have a masion in the country, nor do I  live in the country at all, meaning I have to take it easy and mix it up a bit. Walking around Islington dressed like the Queen at her Balmoral Estate really isn’t going to work – country wannabe isn’t a good look. I think items like the Barbour Liberty print jacket is a good compromise though, the pattern is edgy enough to wear in the city, without being too twee . Now all I need to do is find an excuse to purchase it….do walks on Hampstead Heath count?

As much as I love autumn fashion, I’m not looking forward to the nights drawing in and loosing the light. I get so sad arriving and leaving work almost completely in the dark. Although every cloud has a silver lining and that is new produce, yummy autumn foods are back on the menu! Hearty pies, pumpkin, squashes, root vegetables, stews and hot puddings – yes! What is everyone else hankering for this autumn, anyone already baking up some great seasonal recipes? Please do share.

My Mini Mistake

I had a bit of an ordering miss-hap! I got excited an ordered my much wanted Fjallraven backpack from America for Miles to pick up and boy did I get it wrong. The Opening Ceremony website wasn’t really the most helpful and did’t give any measurements for the bags so I ended up ordering one that would even look too small on a Child – the Mini Kanken. I had my heart  so set on the bag that I had to go out and get the right sized one at English prices, which are considerably more (sob). However, since having it it hasn’t left my back and I have had free limbs, no longer ladened with my heavy handbags – I love it! I have no idea what I’ll do with it’s little brother – lunch bag maybe?  In other news I’m loving Two Door Cinema Club, Oh Happy Day! blog and The Help (a book I’m reading).

Autumn Lovelies

I hate being someone that seems to be wishing summer away, but unfortunately I work in a very hot office and to be honest I haven’t been able to get and enjoy the sun as much as I wanted to this year. All this, combined with the recent turn in the the weather has let my mind drift to Autumn and winter fashions. Warmer colour combinations and snuggly over-sized jumpers  seem so perfect right now…this may have something to do with being quite tired? Anyway, here’s a little collage of the things making it onto my Autumn wish list.

1. Fleur de Bois frangrance from Miller Harris

2.  Holly Bow shoes in mustard from Hobbs NW3

3. Ultimate Winter Duffle coat from Topshop

4. Cream slouchy jumper from Topshop

5. Tassle bag (very Luella) from Topshop

6. Heath Scarf from Hobbs NW3

7. Yarra Desert boots from Clarks Originals

8. Casio retro gold watch from ASOS

9. Rob Ryan bird Brooch for Tatty Devine

(the brooch reads ‘Our adventure is about to begin’  too cute!)

What are your Autumn lovelies?

A.P.C Love

I am totally in love with A.P.C!

If only I could afford to stock my whole wardrobe full of their lovely wares I would! Alas, this is the ever restricting credit crunch so I can only but dream. The Parisian style is super cool, elegant and a little bit kooky in a bookish way. I wish I could go back to Paris – such an inspiring place full of beautiful things. It’s officially dark, rainy and super gloomy in London – I am not feeling the love. I guess I’ll just have to keep looking at inspiring things to keep me from getting too down. Speaking of inspiring things I can’t stop reading Ninainvorm’s beautiful blog - so lovely!

Fashion in the Mirror

I forgot to mention, I recently saw the Fashion in the Mirror exhibition exhibition at the London Photographers Gallery. It aims to showcase the development of self reflection in fashion photography throughout history. It shows the quest for perfect beauty and the development of the inside glimpse at the makings of what we see as ‘perfect beauty’. It was a small but perfectly formed exhibition – great for a spare lunch hour!

Autumn lovelies

There is just so many lovely things out there at the moment, I made a little collage of just a few of my faves. It’s hard to lust after autumn fashions when I will be off to sunny Greece this week – but when I get back I am well and truly getting stuck into autumn.

Ok so on the wish list line up is the divine Orla Kiely ‘Cube Print’ dress, this is a long shot as it is way out of my price range – but a girl can dream. There is a great piece about Orla in this month’s Vogue too! Next up is the Pop Art macaroons and gift boxes from Laduree I seriously want to try all the flavours and own all the gift boxes, they are so pretty and iconic. Then there is the irresistible Boden leather boots, my current boots need re-healing and I have fallen for these beauties.  The Russian doll lamp is so cute as you all my know (the name is a give away) but I am nuts about Russian dolls, so this lamp seriously blows my mind – it’s by Plumo. Not forgetting the amazing Luella horse tee and the amazing Cath Kidston floral sweatshirt which I WILL own when I get back from my hols.

Wish List Time

It’s that time of year again – I am slightly poor and the weather really does not permit all the super, pretty and cute things in the shops at the moment. It is the first day of spring and it snowed most of yesterday, my office was sub-zero today and I am reaching for the long sleeve t-shirts again!  I am really over wrapping up now – winter needs to end! So to cheer myself I made a collection of all things colourful, lovely and nothing to do with winter at all.

The lovely Eames rocker, which has been on a never ending wish list of mine, Camper sandals please, Cath Kidston cowboy skirtMiu Miu patent hair band is to die for, Clarks Originals lace up shoes and a cute Topshop yellow butterfly ring to add some subtle colour to everything! Heres to dreaming of warmer climates…. x
